Inspiring Basketball Development

Sammy Prahalis was born in Commack and attended Commack High School where she played on the Varsity team for 7 years. She was a McDonald’s High School All – American following her senior year and was heavily recruited in high school. Sammy also played on multiple AAU travel teams and traveled the world.

    After her successful high school career, Sammy went on to Ohio State where she played and started all four years for the Buckeyes. Some of her accomplishments in college :

Sammy was selected in the first round of the 2012 WNBA draft (6th overall) by the Phoenix Mercury. She played for the Los Angeles Sparks and The New York Liberty and overseas in Romania, China, Thailand, Argentina and many others.

Coaching

Since her playing days are over, Sammy has been coaching at various levels including Head Coach at Ward Melville High School, Amityville High School, James Madison University and has served as Director of Player Development at Ohio State University and St. John’s University. The Sammy Prahalis Academy she founded is quickly becoming a force in the NYC Metro area.
